Flicker Box Review and Discount

I love candles.  They can brighten a room, provide a pleasant smell, or just improve your mood.  I was excited when Flicker Box sent me a box to review.  Flicker Box sends a box full of artisan candles every month.  They also send an information card, giving details about the companies they are featuring in the box that month.

The Details

Cost: Monthly: $25.00, $32.00 a month every month after
         3 Months: $96.00 prepaid
         6 Months: $165.00 prepaid
12 Months (every other month): $165.00
         12 Months: $300.00
What's in the box? Each month you will get a box of hand crafted candles, by various artists around the United States
Discount: Save 10% on 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions by using the code REVIEW2013. That means you can buy a 1 year sub for $270.00 (after the 10%) and pay $22.50 a month.
When does the box ship? By the 7th of the month
How do I cancel? Email Flicker at [email protected]
The Box
The box is shipped by USPS and only took a couple of days to arrive.  I was very surprised to see it on my doorstep so soon.

First Look
On top, was the information card.  The box smelled really good when I opened it.  It reminded me of fall.
Information Card
This month, Flicker featured Mosley Lane, Armadilla Wax Works, The Flying Farm, and Witch City Wicks.
The card also described more about each company, and how they make their candles.
Witch City Wicks Trick or Treat Tea Lights $5.50
Witch City Wicks is made in Salem, Ma.  Each candle is made from 100% all natural soy wax, phthalate-free, fine fragrance oils, color dye, lead free, and cotton wicks.  Each tea light burns 4 hours.  I love the tea lights are long burning.  Some tea lights only burn for an hour or less.  The scent is Trick or Treat, and it is made especially for Flicker Box.  The scent is a vanilla/light cinnamon smell.
Witch City Wicks Poison Apple Tea Lights $5.50
This is also made by Witch City Wicks for Flicker Box.  The scent is Poison Apple.  This has a spicy apple smell.  I love these candles and they remind me of a cold crisp fall.
Mosley Lane Votive Candles $2.50 each ($7.50 total)
These candles are made with soy wax and beeswax.  Each candle is hand poured and they don't use any artificial dyes or additives.  There are 3 different scents: The Witching Hour, All Hallows Eve, and Spiced Pumpkin.  The company put colored stars on the bottom, to distinguish each candle.  All Hallows Eve smells like buttery/vanilla.  Spiced Pumpkin smells accurate.  The Witching Hour smells of cinnamon.
Armadilla Wax Works Medium Floating Pumpkin Candle $10.50 for 3 ($3.50 each)
This is not only a beautiful candle, but a floating candle.  The candle will naturally go out, once it has burned down.  This is my first fall decoration for the house.
The Flying Farm 31 Autumn Leaves Candle $10.50
This is a new business on Etsy.  The owner, Rachel creates the candles out of soy and is free from dyes.  She uses mason jars to hold the candles, and encourages everyone to re-use their containers, when they are used up.
Bag of Treats
This was a fun bonus to the gift.  A cute bag of candy!
Advertisements and Matches
The Witching Hour and The Flying Farm included cards for their businesses.  Flicker Box also included a book of matches.
The Whole Box
Final Thought:  The total value for this box was $32.50.  This is above the $32.00 cost.  As with all artisan products, there is a shipping savings.  I thought all the candles complimented each other very well.  All the scents were pleasing and smelled of fall.  Save 10% on 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions by using the code REVIEW2013.  If you are interested in signing up, go to http://myflickerbox.com/.  Also, The United Box Bloggers are doing a 3 month giveaway with Flicker Box.  To enter the giveaway, go HERE.

E-Sentials Review

I have not tried a ‘time of the month” box before, so I was happy when E-Sentials sent me a box to review.  E-Sentials sends you an assortment of razors, pads, deodorant, and tampons, to you door each month.  They have different levels of plan that determines what will be included in your box.
The Details
Cost and What's in the Box: There are 3 subscription types.
          a.  $10.00 a month, an assortment of 20 tampons and pads
          b.  $13.00 a month an assortment of 20 tampons and pads and 3 disposable razors
          c.  $16.00 a month an assortment of 20 tampons and pads, 3 disposable razors and deodorant
Contact Information [email protected]  or  1-855-336-SENT (7368) http://www.e-sentials.com
When does the box ship?  You pick the day it is delivered
I received the $16.00 package for review.
* Assortment of 20 Tampons and Pads
*3 Disposable razors
* Deodorant
The box
The box ships in this box.  It was small enough to fit inside my mailbox.

First Look
  Everything was packaged nicely
14 Tampax Pearl Super Tampons $3.60
I received 14 Tampax Pearl Tampons.  You can choose from Tampax Cardboard, Pearl and Radiant, Kotex, OB, Playtex Gentile Glide or None.  You can also choose how many light regular or super tampons you want.
Secret Powder Fresh Invisible Solid $3.24
You could choose between Secret, Suave, Degree, Dove, and Lady Speed Stick.  I was happy that they had my brand.
5 Always Ultra Thin Pads $1.15
This was the only brand of pads E-Sentials offered.  Always is the leader in the pad industry, but not everyone uses this brand.  I do use this brand, so I am happy.
3 Blade Disposable Razor with Aloe Strips and Pivoting Head $6.00
I am not sure on the brand, but these seem nice quality razors.  I linked to some Venus razors, which looked similar and I estimated the price.
One Summer's Eve Cleansing Cloth
This is a nice little sample product that E-Sentials included
The Whole Box

Final Thought: The total estimated retail values for this box was $13.99.  While you could go to Target, use coupons and get these items cheaper than $16.00, this box is about convenience.  There is a big value, having all my essential items for the month sent to me.  If I go to Target, I have to load a 4 year old and 18 month old with me.  In addition, I can't get out of Target with just the items on my list.  I love the idea of having my item sent to me.  One less thing for me to worry about each month.  If you are interested in signing up, check out http://www.e-sentials.com/.  Stay tuned to my website as the United Box Bloggers will have a giveaway for a 3 month subscription.  This giveaway will have multiple winners!

October Stork Stack The Five Senses and $10.00 Discount Code

Last month's Stork Stack was a big disappointment to me.  I was a little nervous about this month, and hoped it would be better.  I am happy that Stork Stack delivered!  This was a good month.  Stork Stack is $27.99 a month but if you click HERE and use the code EA4827B9, you will save $10.00 on your first box.  Stork Stack is for newborn to 3 years old.

This month's theme was “The Five Senses“.  This box was for a 18 month old boy.
I love Stork Stack's Tissue Paper

P’Kolino: Puzzle Stacker Mini $24.99
This month's toy represented the sense of sight (to see which toy to play with).  T, my 18 month old, loves this toy.  It was hard to get him down for nap, because he kept playing with this.  This one item is worth almost the price of the box.  I love wooden toys and this is very well made.
North American Bear: Silly Old Rabbit $12.00
This rabbit represents the sense of touch.  The rabbit is super cuddly.  There are 3 different color variations of the rabbit and this is the one I was hoping to get.  Mr Rabbit is currently cuddling with T for nap time.
My Super Foods: MySuperSnack (soft) Granola Bites $ 2.35
These are for the sense of taste.  These are apple raisin soft granola bites.  T hasn't tried these yet but they feel very soft.  I think T will likes these.
Weleda: Calendula Weather Protection Cream $10.59
This is for the sense of smell. I have received this in another box before.  It works really well in the winter to protect little one's cheeks from getting chapped.
LARABAR $1.56
This is for the sense of taste.  This is made with blueberries, cashews and dates with a dash of lemon and vanilla. Soft and chewy with a hint of crunch.  I am not a fan of bar, but I will give it a try.  This is the mom gift.
The Whole Box

Final Thought  I am really happy with the October Stork Stack.  The total value for this box was $51.49.  This is a really nice value for a box that costs $27.99.  The two most expensive items in the box (the rabbit and toy) were played with within minutes of opening the box.  If you are interested in signing up, click HERE and use the code EA4827B9, you will save $10.00 on your first box.

October Julep Maven Classic with A Twist and Free Box Code

It was hard to decide what Julep Maven box to get.  I loved the red in Classic with a twist. Anisa.  I really wasn't crazy about the grey-beige color, Winona.  I also loved It Girl this month.  I decided to stay with Classic with a Twist and trade Winona on a swap board.  Julep is $19.95 a month, but the nice part is, you can skip any month.  When you sign up, you fill out a style profile, and are assigned to one of five styles: Modern Beauty, It Girl, Bombshell, BoHo Glam, and Classic with a Twist, Every month, BoHo Glam, Bombshell and Classic with a Twist gets 2 polishes and then a beauty/makeup/nail item.  It Girl always has 3 polishes.  Modern Beauty always get two beauty, makeup, nail care, or skin care items.

The Box
I like how the add-ons are all in the same box.
Quote Card
There is always a little card, with a quote for the month.  This month, the card says, “Don't Ask Permission” by Joan Jett
Candy Corn
Julep always include a little bonus item.  This month's item was candy corn.  My boys are going to enjoy this.  I am not a fan.
Kajal Eye Glider with sharpener
I was glad to get a make up item this month.  I haven't tried this yet, but I like eye pencils.  I also like the sharpener.
Alisa
I love this red.  It is the reason I chose this box.  I love the color.
Winona
I was not a fan of this color.  It is a beige-grey color.  I am trading this for another color, with person from an online swap group.
Casper
This is a white sparkly color that glows in the dark.  I think this will be fun for Halloween.
The Whole Box

Final Thought This was a pretty nice month.  I love Alisa and Casper!  I love being a part of an online community, so I can trade colors I don't love.  I might skip next month.  I have quite a collection of nail polish.  Do you subscribe to Julep?  What do you think?   If you are new to Julep Maven, you can get your first box free, just pay shipping ($3.99).  Click HERE to order and use the code FREEBOX.  Note:  Your first box will not be the same as regular subscribers.  You will get the same number of products, but the colors will  be different.
